Summer Vacation Book

It’s vacation time! This year, I’m heading to California with my family for a visit with friends, and a tourist-y trip to San Francisco. I created this mini album ahead of time, to make it easy to simply add in photos, journaling, and memorabilia along the way. This way, I’ll be able to complete my album quickly when I return. Happy travels!

Instructions (Print version)

1. I used a pre-made chipboard album cover/back, but you could easily make your own. Punch 2 holes for binder clips to hold your book together. Embellish the cover with punch shapes, then add your title.

2. For each inside page, trim cardstock to approximately 5” x 7” using the Fiskars portable trimmer. I also added photo sleeves (available in the day planner section of your office supply store) and an envelope (perfect for collecting business cards or receipts.

3. Use your Fiskars Border Punches to add interest to the edge of some of your pages. I used the Upper Crest border punch…definitely one of my favorites!
4. Want to create your own embellishments? It’s easy! I used the small Round ‘n Round squeeze punch to punch icons from a sheet of patterned paper. I then adhered them with foam dots to give the look of a thicker embellishment.

5. The Leave it to Weaver border punch makes it easy to add ribbon to your inside pages without having to punch a hole through the page. Punch a strip of cardstock, thread your ribbon through, then adhere to the page.

6. Punches are also a great way to create tabs for your mini album pages. In this album, I used circles on the side of one page to create interest. You’ll want to punch two shapes for each tab, then simply adhere them back to back over the edge of your page. The Fiskars Tag, You’re It punch also makes a great tab!
