Send winter cheer with several fun crafts!

• Required supplies:
• Medium Navy Blue Gift Bag
• Textured Cardstock: Navy-Blue, White, Orange, Black
• Coordinating Patterned Paper, 4 Yards of Ribbon of Your Choice (red satin ribbon with snowflakes ribbon was choosen)
• ½ yard of 1/8”of red sheer ribbon, 15 Green Brads
• Black ink pad, White embossing ink, Clear embossing powder
• Heating Hand Tool
• Black and Orange Marker
• Adhesive
• Recipe card or template off computer

Instructions for Creating Snowmen

1.      Using the Ultra ShapeXpress and the Squares ShapeTemplate cut out one square of each of these sizes: 2.00 X 2.00 and 1.50 x 1.50 and 1.25 x 1.25. Ink all the edges of all squares and layer them on top of each other starting from the bottom and work your way up.  Using the pumpkin color cardstock, cut three triangles. These will be the carrot-shaped noses. Ink them as well.  Adhere the noses to the middle of the top square and with your black marker create eyes and mouth. Cut enough snowflake ribbon to wrap around the neck as a scarf. Either tie or glue the ribbon to adhere together. Then add three green brads for buttons.

2.      Using the black cardstock and the Stars Texture Plate, place the cardstock on top     of the texture plate and with your Texturing Tool make small circles until you see the stars appear on the paper.  Then using the Ultra ShapeXpress and the Squares ShapeTemplate,  cut one 1.50 x 1.50 squares.  Then ink the square with the embossing powder and heat until shiny. Cut a strip off the bottom of the square, trim top and sides of the square so they’re slightly smaller. Then apply the wider strip to the bottom of the square, creating a top hat. Trim a strip of the pattern paper to go above the rim of the hat. Adhere the hat to the snowman body.

Instructions for Greetings Card

1.      Cut out of blue textured card stock 5.5” x 8.5”, score in center and fold in half.

2.      Cut two ¾” x 5 ½” strips of patterned paper and adhere to the top of the card and bottom of the card.

3.      Type and print out in red ink on white cardstock “Wishing you all the magic and wonder the season brings!”  Trim around greeting, ink the edges, and apply to the card as shown.

4.      Then adhere (tilted) one of the completed snowmen (see above) to the front of the card.  Measure and cut a white mat from the white card stock for the inside of the card, ink and paste it to the inside of the card for journaling. 

Instructions for Recipe Card

1.      Take a recipe card and ink all around the edges with your black ink pad.

2.      Cut a strip of  ¾” x 5” patterned paper and adhere it to the bottom of the recipe card.

3.      Write in the Snowman Soup recipe (see below) with the orange marker. Outline the title with the black marker so it will stand out as shown. Adhere a completed snowman (see above) to the left side of the recipe card.

Recipe for Snowman Soup

1 package of hot chocolate mix

3 Hershey kisses

1 handful of mini marshmallows

1 candy cane

Put all in a mug and wrap with cellophane and tie with a ribbon!

*Put recipe card in with a mug and the contents for a great holiday season gift.

Instructions for Gift Bag

1. Cut a strip of patterned paper to fit along the top and bottom of the gift bag. Then adhere to the bag.

2. Using Ultra ShapeXpress and Tags ShapeTemplate cut one jumbo tag from the blue cardstock.

3. Using your computer, type in the poem shown below in the font of choice.

“Was told you have been real good this year,

Glad to here it.

With freezing weather coming soon

You will need to warm the soul

So here’s a little Snowman Soup

Complete with a stirring stick.

Add hot water, stir and sip it slow.

This is surely to do the trick”!

4. Print poem in black ink and trim to fit on the jumbo tag. Cut two ½” strips from patterned paper to be the same width as the jumbo tag. Adhere to top and bottom of the poem. Punch hole and add 1/8” red sheer ribbon

5.  Then cut four strips of the snowflake ribbon and tie to the bag handles. Adhere the snowman (see above) to the middle of the bag.  Tie tag with poem to the handle of the bag.
