This set of Fiskars Harlequin stamps has so many uses!  You can create unique argyle type patterns, masculine items, and wonderfully rich feminine projects.  I decided to create a vintage ring bearers pillow for a wedding.  The large background stamp is perfect to add interest to the fabric by using coordinating acrylic paint.  Add a little old fashioned lace, a doily, button, and ribbon and you have a beautiful pillow ready for your wedding.  So many unique pieces in this stamp set, and the round flourish stamp is the perfect way to personalize your pillow by simply inserting your names in the center!

Instructions (Print version)

1.  Cut 2 pieces of muslin that measure 9"x9" using your Fiskars Comfort Grip Rotary Cutter, Fiskars Ruler, and Fiskars Cutting mat.

2.  Using your Fiskars Compact Stamp press, Fiskars Harlequin background stamp, and small sponge, dab tan acrylic paint on the background stamp and place the design on one side of the muslin.  Flip your muslin and create the same image on the opposite side but diagonally from the first stamped image.  Allow paint to dry and then heat set using an iron and press cloth.
3.  Using your Fiskars 12-in-1 Sewing Muti-tool pin ruffled trim 1/2" in on the stamped side of pillow front making sure the decorative edge is pointing to the inside.  Place the right sides of both 9" squares together and sew a 3/4" seam making sure to leave a 5" opening on one side of the pillow for stuffing.  Trim raw edges to 1/4" using your Fiskars Razor Edged No.8 bent scissors.  Do not trim the area that has the 5" opening.

4.  Turn your pillow right side out, straightening ruffle as you go.  Stuff pillow with cotton batting until it is the firmness you desire.  Hand stitch opening closed using a needle and tan thread.

5. Place the doily in the center of the pillow.  Stitch the large decorative button through the center of the doily so the button recedes down into the pillow and secure with your needle and thread in the back.
6.  Thread the 3/16" ribbon through a section of doily near the bottom of the button and tie the first loop of a knot to secure.

7.  Create a tag for your pillow using the round flourish stamp in the Fiskars Harlequin stamp set on to Kimberly Poloson Blooming Love Flourish patterned cardstock using brown ink and your Fiskars Stamp Block Set. Trim around the outside edge of your stamped image using your Fiskars No. 5 Micro-tip scissors leaving a slight edge.  Ink around the outside edge of this piece and then write the name of the bride and groom inside the Flourished Circle area.  Punch a hole using Fiskars 1/4" circle punch along the upper edge and attach this to the ribbon completing the knot loosely.

8.  Attach the 5" piece of elastic to the back of the pillow has a handle using your needle and thread.
9.  Attach the wedding rings to the pillow by tying a bow to secure them.
