I love NYC

There’s nothing more magical than New York City during the holidays! I wanted to capture some of my favorite shots from a Christmas trip the NYC last year. I wanted to keep the lines of this layout very graphic & clean. I used the Fiskars Happy Holly Days squeeze punch to create multiple holly leaves as a focal embellishment for the upper left corner. Punches are also a great way to create an interesting border…in this layout, the holly leaves border helps to “ground” the layout. Cloud 9 Rain Dots add the finishing touch to the holly.

Instructions (Print version)

1. Start with a 12x12 sheet of cardstock.
2. Trim two strips of 1” x 12” patterned paper from Lil Davis Designs Candy Cane patterned paper
3. Round the upper corners of one strip, and lower corners of another strip, using the Fiskars Twist & Flip 2-in-1 Corner Punch
4. Adhere photos to center of layout (Tip: I arranged the photos in Photoshop Elements first, then printed one strip of photos).
5. Adhere patterned paper strips above and below photos (be sure to leave enough room for title)
6. Spell out title with Cloud 9 Designs Alpha stickers and punched heart (Tip: used a foam adhesive square to give the heart more dimension)
7. Punch multiple holly leave shapes using the Fiskars Happy Holly Days punch.
8. Adhere two holly leaves in upper left corner. Adhere remaining leaves in pairs below bottom strip of paper.
9. Adhere 3 Cloud 9 Designs Rain Dots as holly berries in the center of each holly leave grouping.
10.  Write date in between holly leaves in bottom border of layout.
