My Ultra Shape Xpress is one of my favorite and most-used tools.  I thought it would be fun to try “collaging” a shape together, out of leftover strips and bits of patterned paper.  The end result is a custom embellishment and custom accent for my page.

  • Ultra Shape Xpress
  • 1/2" round the bend squeeze punch
  • Pinking paper edgers
  • Cloud 9 Christy & Friends paper and embellishments

Instructions (Print version)

1. Start with a sheet of Christy and Friends Molly’s Garden Plaid as the base of page.
2. Corner round top right corner of 4x6 photo, then matte onto yellow solid backside of Christy and Friends Molly’s Garden Plaid.
3. Trim 6 inch, 5 inch, 4.5 inch, and 3 inch diameter circles out of cardstock.
4. Cover each cardstock circle with adhesive, then adhere strips of patterned paper in a collage fashion, covering whole cardstock circle.  Cut some edges of strips of patterned paper with pinking paper edgers before adhering.
5. Flip circle over so that you are looking at the backside and trim excess strips away from the edge of the circle.

6. Machine stitch detailing onto collaged circle if desired.
7. Arrange circles on page, around matted photo in center.  Adhere all, using foam adhesive for some circles, and to layer any circles on top of others (as shown in lower left corner of page).
8. Trim strip of solid paper and adhere to bottom corner of page, place title stickers onto.
9. Trim 2 inch diameter circle from plaid paper and adhere on right side of title strip.  Add dimensional flower to circle.
10. Print or write journaling onto tan cardstock and adhere to sides of page.
11. Add stickers to photo.
