Christmas layout with bonus ornament idea

Designer: Becky Novacek
I was so excited to use the new Fiskars Lace and Lattice Border Corner Punch when I got it. It’s like two tools in one and so easy to use. The one inch guides insure that even the most uncrafty (is that a word?!) people can use it with success. I created two different super simple projects that will hopefully inspire you. The first project took about 5 minutes, literally. I plan to make them in mass to use as Christmas gift tags, but I think they would be cute as Christmas ornaments or placecards as well. The second project is a Christmas layout. I plan to recreate this layout 3 more times so that each of the children has one in their book. It goes together so quickly and easily, yet has a detailed look, thanks to the Lace and Lattice Punch.

Instructions
(Print version)

Layout:
1. Trim 7 sheets of pattern paper and cardstock to 4”x4” using the Premium Crafter’s Trimmer. 2. Use the Lace and Lattice Border and Corner Punch on 4 of the squares. Adhere 3 of the punched squares to the cardstock squares. One of the punched squares directly onto the background of the layout. Line the layered squares to the upper ¾ of the layout (8.5” x11” format) This layout could be done on a 12”x12” background using 6 squares. 3. Trim 4 photos to 3”x3” and adhere to the layered squares. 4. Use the Oval n Oval Again Squeeze Punch on kraft cardstock and adhere to center of layered squares with Foam Dots. 5. Type or computer generate title on vintage ledger paper and cut into strips. Adhere to oval punch. 6. Use the Lace and Lattice Border and Corner Punch on a 1”x8” strip of black cardstock. 7. Layer a 2” x 8.5” blue cardstock strip, the black punched strip and a 1”x8” strip of vintage book page at the bottom of the page. Add a strip of patterned masking tape and then handwrite journaling above tape.

Ornament:
1. Trim one piece of pattern paper to 4”x4” using the Premium Crafter’s Trimmer. Trim a sheet of vintage book paper 4”x4” also. 2. Then use the Lace and Lattice Border and Corner Punch on the pattern paper 4”x4” square. Glue the pattern paper to the vintage book page. 3. Then you can either add a 3”x3” photo to the center or a letter sticker. 4. Use the ¼ “ Circle Hand Punch on the center top of the ornament and then tie a ribbon through the hole.
