Instructions (Print version)

1. Use Fiskars Rotary Cutter and Cutting Mats to trim scrap fabrics to 1.75 inch squares. Line fabrics up and lay smaller mat over larger mat as a cutting guide. It works well to layer fabrics to save time. You’ll need  12 squares.
2. Use wet adhesive to adhere fabric squares to canvas. Create a sort of grid, leaving open spaces for stamping.
3. Choose which stamps you’d like to use on the open squares and stamp away. Use care when stamping. It’s helpful to have the canvas on a very sturdy table. Stamp image and before lifting stamp up, pick up canvas and apply pressure to the back side of the canvas. This isn’t necessary on the squares that are backed with the wood braces of the canvas.
4. Allow stamped images time to dry.

5. Thread floss through buttons and randomly adhere to some of the fabric squares.
6. Mix acrylic paints to a color that works with your fabrics and theme. When stamped images are dry, paint sides of canvas, allowing some paint to get on the front side. This gives the piece a lovely homespun feel.
7. Give the canvas a few hours to dry thoroughly and then apply color to stamped images using watercolor pencils. Such a fun playful way to add color! Feel free to go outside the lines a bit!
