The lyrics to the song Home by Michael Card speak of the comfort and security of family and home and the song has long been a favorite of mine. I thought these lyrics would make a great inspirational piece for a young couple so I created a framed art piece, tying a line in the song comparing this comfort and security of home to Heaven by putting angel wings on the house and handwriting the lyrics on the wings. Instructions (Print version)
1. Cut a 2" wide by 3 1/3" high strip of patterned paper and use the Effervescence Border Punch on the long edges to create a house. 2. Use the Lace Border punch to create a 5" long trim piece for the top edge of the . Cut a 3/4" x 5" strip of paper for the bottom edge.
3. Trace the wings onto crepe paper using the pattern on the included PDF file, add your song lyrics or journaling, and cut the wings out. Layer the wings, house, and trim pieces on a 5" x 7" piece of off-white cardstock. 4. Use the Compact Stamp Press, Heidi Grace Dreamer Stamps, and Still of the Night High Density Stamp Ink to add an additional journaling space beneath the house.
5. Add final details such as beads, hand-stitches, punched shapes, and a roof made from an interesting textured material such as cork. Place the finished piece in a pretty vintage frame and it's ready to present as an inspirational gift!
