I really love Fiskars tools.  They make my crafting projects so much easier, and because they are built to last, I never have to worry.  I especially enjoy using the squeeze punches.  I sometimes can't believe how easy they are to use!  I cut out 99 squares in no time flat and my hand wasn't aching afterward.  And the Fingertip Craft Knife is essential if you will be making altered projects and need to cover items in paper.  I've never had such an easy time trimming objects.  Kee up the good work Fiskars!  I can't wait to see what you come up with next!

Instructions (Print version)

1.  Pick up a wooden drawer unit at a local craft store.  Either paint it with the spray paint of your choice as I did, or leave it unfinished.

2.  Begin by covering the three drawer fronts with paper.  I used a spray adhesive here to ensure good, even coverage.  Place the full piece of paper on your project and let dry.  Then using your fingertip craft knife and cutting mat, trim off all excess paper.

3.  Embellish the drawer fronts as you wish.

    A. For the "colors" drawer, I painted Lil' Davis stripped chip chipboard with acrylic craft paints.  After they dried I coated the letters with Lil Davis glitter glaze for a little extra sparkle.

    B. For the "papers" drawer, I used the Lil' Davis Secret Garden Invisible Alphabet in Parasol.  I wasn't sure how to attach the letters without the adhesive showing, so I cut a strip of paper and then sewed the letters right onto it with my sewing machine.  Then I just adhered the paper strip using the Fiskars Tape Runner.

    C. For the "tools" drawer, I cut a piece of the Lil' Davis Die Cut Cardstock in Bird Of Paradise.  I really wanted to have those die cut flowers on there, and then I rounded the corners to mimic the die cut portion of the paper.  I cut a ric rac piece of the Lil' Davis Castaway Felt Border and stapled it on.  Then I attached the yellow sheet.  I then used the Lil' Davis Castaway clear stamps in Postcards, and used my stamp press to add 3 different sized silver flowers to give it a bit more dimenson.  I then added on my title with the Lil' Davis Castaway chipboard alphabet in Jungle.

4.  I wanted the top to mimic a quilt top, so I took my leftover pieces of paper (Lil' Davis Castaway : Calliope, Calypso, Sundrenched, Splash, Bird of Paradise and Hibsicus) and punched out squares using my Block Party medium Squeeze Punch.  I attached all the squares with the tape runner to hold them in place and then sealed with Mod Podge.  I later added Lil' Davis Castaway Assorted Buttons and faux stitches using a white pen.
