Copper Button Brooch

I’ve never been a brooch or pendant wearer, but this particular pattern for the Fiskars Wire Winder inspired me to try one and kick it up a notch!

• Required supplies:
• Wire Jig
• Wire Jig Plate 6
• Needle Nose Pliers
• Wire Cutter
• 10 Gauge Copper Wire
• 20 Gauge Copper Wire
• Buttons (1 large, 1 small)
• Pin fastener

Cut a 40” length of 20 gauge wire with Wire Cutters. Secure one end underneath plate, insert plastic plate and begin wrapping wire design.  Due to the thickness of the wire, you will need to hold the wire down with the tips of your pliers. This keeps the design from popping up off the pegs.

Gently lift up plastic plate to remove design from Wire Winder. Take one end in each hand and give the design 1 complete turn to double the circle. Secure ends by twisting gently with Pliers.

Cut a 36” length of 10 gauge wire with Wire Cutters. 

Taking Wire Design and large brown button in one hand, and cut wire in other hand begin to wrap around button and in between petals of wire design. When you get halfway, add the small orange button and continue wrapping till all of wire is used. 

 

 

Add Pin Fastener to back of design in same fashion by wrapping around design and fastener with a 12” length of 10 gauge wire.
