Instructions (Print version) To make the basic purse, cut an 8” circle from cardstock. Cut and score lines as shown on the diagram. Note: It is easier to draw the lines on the paper first before cutting the circle. 1. Mark where you would like to set the eyelets for the ribbon handle, then set eyelets with the eyelet setter. 2. Fold all sides up and inward then adhere the tabs to the inside. 3. You have now created the basic purse. Adhere patterned paper to the front to embellish. Cut two white daisy flowers. Adhere together with the petals offset. Texture a small piece of yellow paper then cut the circle for the center. Shade one side of center with chalk if desired. Adhere yellow center to daisy then adhere completed flower to the front of the “purse”. 4. Thread ribbon through the holes. Tie a knot at the ends of the ribbon on the inside to secure. The basket is made in the same manner except the base is 3” x 4” so the horizontal fold lines will be 3” apart. (i.e. 1 1/2” from each side of the center line.) The tabs are glued to the outside of the basket over a piece of patterned paper. Create the paper lace handle as follows: Cut a 6” strip of paper 1 1/2” wide. Using the border punch, punch along one side of the strip then along the other aligning the design with the center mark on the punch. Embellish with buttons and a bow if desired. |
