Fiskars Framed in Love Border Corner Punch isn’t just for Valentine’s Day! There are a number of Christmas quotes and songs with this theme so I thought to incorporate this great punch into a Christmas banner idea. It will make a great addition to your holiday decorations and it’s simple enough that you can have the kids join in with crafting before the holidays.

1. To make the center (and largest) segment, start by cutting a 5” x 7” piece of light colored paper (cream). Score at the 6” mark along the length and fold. This part will fold over the top of the segment to wrap around the ribbon.
2. Now use the Framed in Love Border Corner Punch around the 3 sides that will be showing.
3. Use the Oval Shape Template’s Cloud Border to line up with the punched heart design. Adjust it so that you can trim a small amount from the punched edge to create a scallop design along the 3 sides with the Ultra ShapeXpress Tool.
4. Next cut a 5 ¼” x 6” piece of red paper; round the corners and adhere behind the punched paper.
5. Cut 3 graduated hearts from patterned paper and cardstock with the Hearts Shape Template; layer and adhere to the punched segment.
6. Stamp heart image on red paper; punch design with XL My Funny Valentine Squeeze Punch and use Adhesive Foam Dots to adhere to center of layered hearts.
7. Print or write “Keep Christmas in your Heart” or other sentiment on paper; trim and round corners then adhere above large heart with Adhesive Foam Dots. Set completed center segment aside.
8. For the small segment with the wreath, start by cutting a 3” square from light colored paper or cardstock. Border Corner Punch all the way around the square.
9. Cut a 3” by 4” piece of red paper/cardstock and again score 1” from the end to create a flap to fold over the ribbon.
10. Adhere the Border Corner Punched square to the front of the red paper in Step 9.
11. Stamp the wreath image on green paper/cardstock and trim with the Ultra ShapeXpress Tool using the freehand attachment. Start by cutting the inside first. Adhere the cut wreath to the center of the punched square and apply Rain Dots to embellish.
12. To create the third segment, repeat Steps 1-4 but with the green punched paper cut to 5” x 6” (instead of 5”x7”) and cut the red background to 5 ¼” x 5”.
13. Once the background is complete cut a 4” square from light colored paper/cardstock and use the Lace & Lattice Border Corner Punch all around; trim off the edges and then adhere to the segment.
14. Border Punch a decorative strip from the same colored paper/cardstock; trim and adhere above the scalloped square.
15. Cut a heart with the Hearts Shape Template and adhere to the center of the scalloped square.
16. Stamp a heart design on red paper and use the Large My Funny Valentine Squeeze Punch around the stamped image.
17. Squeeze Punch the XL My Funny Valentine shape from light colored paper/cardstock and layer the 3 hearts as shown.
18. Stamp the flourish image above the heart and add a left over heart punch shape from the Framed in Love Border Corner Punch.
Note: Repeat the 3 patterns to increase the length of the banner to suit your needs.
19. Adhere the flaps closed over the ribbon evenly spaced apart and your banner is complete and ready to be displayed.
