Designer: Stacey Kingman I created this bag to hold a bottle of sparkling cider, but it’s a great solution for any odd-shaped item you might want to give for the holidays. This is an easily altered project – make it a bit wider, narrower, shorter, or longer...whatever size you need to make a great gift even more special with your own hand-crafted gift bag that the recipient will want to keep and use over and over!

Instructions
(Print version)
Bag - 1. Using the rotary cutter and Easy-to-Read ruler, cut two pieces of red burlap to 10” X 16”. 2. Create the design on one piece of the burlap by cutting a felt rectangle to 3 ½” X 5” with the pinking shears. Cut blue fabric to 3” X 4 ½” and place on red burlap 3 ½” above the bottom of the piece. Stitch to the burlap. Use the diagonal lines on the cutting mat to cut a Christmas tree that is 2 ¾” tall and 1 ¾” wide at the base. Cut a piece of ¾” X 1 ½” fabric for the tree trunk. Assemble tree pieces and stitch to adhere. Sew three buttons on the tree. 3. Place the right sides of the burlap together and stitch the bottom and both sides so that the inside section is 8 ½” X 15”. Trim extra fabric from the edges and turn the bag right side out. 4. Place the bottle inside the bag and thread the string around the bag about 4” from the top using a yarn needle or a bobby pin.

Tag – 1. Cut a 3 ¼” X 2” rectangle from green dot patterned paper (Heidi Grace Winter Décor Stripe, B side). Trim the corners at one end with the corner squeeze punch and punch a ¼” hole between the punched corners. 2. Punch a ¼” hole in a large foil rimmed acetate circle. Layer on top of the green tag. 3. Punch an XL Seal of Approval scalloped circle, punch a ¼” hole in top, layer onto other tag pieces. 4. Punch a cardstock circle with the Round ‘n Round Large Squeeze Punch. Stamp “merry Christmas” on it, punch a ¼” hole in the top, adhere to the scalloped circle. Using the 12-in-1 Sewing Multi-Tool, punch two holes in the cardstock portion of the tag below the words, sew a button. 5. Cut a 3” X ½” scrap of the blue fabric, staple to the tag as shown. 6. Handwrite a message at the bottom of the tag. 7. Run the string through the tag and tie a bow. Note: The tag is meant to be in loose layers so that the pieces of it move freely. Only the two punched cardstock pieces are adhered to one another.
