I love using bright and happy scrapbook lines when I am making projects.  I am in love with the Heidi Grace line called A Little Bird’s Tale, so I really wanted to use it to make a bird house.  I had so much fun making this using the Maya Road chipboard villa and lots of Fiskars tools.  Thank goodness the Fiskars 1.5” circle punch I used for the roof was a squeeze punch or I might have killed my hands in the process.  The Fiskars Lacy Days of Summer Border Punch helped me add the perfect finishing touch along the bottom edge.  I now have a fun homemade bird house to add to my collection displayed in my entry at home.

Instructions (Print version)

1. Paint all edges of the house, roof, chimney and front door with white paint; paint the two windows with white paint
2. Trace the four sides of the house on the blue bird paper and cut out; adhere to villa with a glue stick
3. Attach the chipboard front door to paper and trim around the edges using the Ultra ShapeXpress; attach to front of house
4. Attach both windows to paper and trim around edges using the Xacto Knife in the Tool Taxi; attach to two sides of house
5. Punch a border using the Lacy Days of Summer Border Punch out of paper; attach around bottom of house
6. Trace the four edges of the chimney on paper, cut out and attach
7. Decorate window and front door with flowers, stickers, rick rack and a ribbon bow; use a button as the door handle

8. Punch out circles for the roof – 30 white and 48 pink using the 1.5” circle punch; attach the circles to a strip of white cardstock the length of the roof; slightly overlap each circle; use six pink circles and overlap the two edges of the white strip, then trim the edges off (cutting circles in half); use five white circles and do not trim outside edges; trim the top edge so they are flat (cutting off the top third of each circle); outline each circle in fine tip black marker.

9. Attach the rows of circles to the roof on both sides overlapping each so they form shingles; use adhesive only along the top edges and then add pop dots under each circle
10. Glue the chimney to the roof; attach chipboard hearts to a pink pipe cleaner and insert into chimney; attach roof to house
