Baby Shower Spoons

Plastic cutlery can be found in many colors, but that's about as exciting as they come. Why not turn such a utilitarian item into party decor? It's all in the details. A simple way to add pizazz to plastic is with one of my very favorite tools, the craft drill! It easily creates holes to anchor embellishments, from festive ribbon to button flowers. One hole is all I needed to knot a single ribbon onto each spoon for the baby shower in pink and blue. If you have more than one type of utensil, it's helpful to label the holder as I've done here so your guests won't have to guess.

1. Drill hole into each spoon handle using third smallest drill bit (being sure to protect work surface).

2. Tie ribbon through hole.
