new squeeze punch designs

new squeeze punch designs

Squeeze punches have quickly become a favorite tool among many crafters, and we have created four new scalloped shapes and several limited edition holiday designs as well. These wonderful new squeeze punches are the featured tool this month, and to help inspire your creativity we have six projects from the fabulous Fiskars design team.

With the fun new holiday squeeze punches, it isn't difficult to come up with a festive holiday page layout that depicts the celebrations of the season.  These punches combined with other circular punches, created a great mix.

By using a scrapbook kit, coordinating was a snap.  Add various strips of patterned paper on a red cardstock background.  Punch several circles in two sizes vertically next to the photos.  Attach several holly leaves with foam adhesive to create dimension and use the epoxy red dot stickers as the hollies.  Combine the use of a premade title, a holiday tree punch, button, and some chipboard flourishes, and the page is complete.

Supplies/tools include Target Stores Holiday Kit, Li'l Davis chipboard shapes, Fiskars Squeeze punches (I Pine for You, Happy Holly Days, Seal of Approval, and Round n' Round), Fiskars Rotary Trimmer with rotary scallop blade.

It’s never too early to start organizing for the holiday gift season! I created this cute altered notebook to keep track of all things gift related: sizes, likes/dislikes, and to do lists.

The new squeeze punch designs are a great way to add fun shapes to a project like this. I layered two sizes of the Fiskars Scallop Heart punch (My Funny Valentine) to create dimension. To create your own notebook, first remove the spiral binding. Cover the notebook front & back with patterned paper or cardstock, and punch holes where the spiral binding needs to be. Re-insert the binding, then embellish the cover with shapes, letters, and a little bling! Tip: to create “pop” use foam dots to adhere the smaller heart over the larger.

Supplies: Fiskars My Funny Valentine punch, Fiskars Threading Water border punch, Fiskars Adhesive Foam Dots, Fiskars Tape Runner, Lil’ Davis Designs Tis the Season patterned paper, Lil’ Davis Designs Stripped Chip Alphabet, Other: Cardstock, paint, ribbon

Scallop Circles instantly with the ease of a squeeze punch…  Could life get any better?  I think not!  I’ve used my new favorite Fiskars tool (the scallop circle squeeze punch) here to create a custom title block and flower accents as the focal point of my scrapbook page about my sweet little new niece.  This one tool can easily be used in many different ways, even on a single scrapbook page.

To create a page similar to mine – start with a base 12x12 page.  Build a collage center using a photo and two patterned papers or cardstocks.  Punch scallop circles to use as title at bottom of collage.  Add large circles to center and then punchboard alphabet pieces for title.  Adhere using foam adhesive.  Punch scallop flowers for side of collage, sew ribbon on as stems – folding ribbon as you sew.  Punch mint condition shapes to use as leaves.  Trim ½ circle using ultra shape xpress tool and circle template – adhere to top of collage section and add title.  Punch single scallop circle and add large circle to center and punchboard heart to use as accent on ½ circle title piece.  Add journaling above photo.  Adhere collage to center of base page.

One of my favorite things about the holidays is the gifts and gift wrapping details. Every year I try to come up with a unique way of identifying whose gifts are whose. I thought the Fiskars Christmas Squeeze Punches would add a fun and festive touch.

I simply punched an XL Squeeze Punch Round n' Round twice, and then used the I Pine for You Christmas Squeeze Punch on one of the circles, making sure that the other circle is double-sided. I machine stitched around the design twice and then used either the Pinking Edger or Scallop Edger around the edges. Adding a sticker with the recipients initial on the back side. Then use the Circle Hand Punch at the top and string ribbon through the hole. I used Heidi Grace Christmas and Winter Pattern Papers, and Heidi Grace Ribbons.

I know I’m a little behind the times – but I’ve finally fallen in love with the owls that I’m seeing everywhere.  I thought an owl would be a good fit for a fall home décor piece, and the new Fiskars scalloped oval punch worked perfectly to bring a feathered look to my canvas.

I started by painting my canvas a dark sage green, and then painting a tree trunk and branch in brown.  I sketched an owl onto a piece of scrap cardstock, and then cut it into different pattern pieces (head, wings & chest).  I covered the head and wings with brown polka dot patterned paper and trimmed them to fit the patterned with my FingerTip Craft Knife.  I embellished the head with punched circles and buttons for eyes and cut an orange triangle for a beak, and then machine stitched around the head and wings for extra dimension.

To start the body, I punched lots and lots of yellow scalloped ovals.  I started at the bottom of the body patterned piece and lined them up across it, overlapping each row.  Once the body was covered, I trimmed away the excess patterned paper.  With all my pieces finished, I reassembled my owl on the canvas and adhered it using a strong adhesive.

The new Fiskars scallop punches have quickly become my favorite tool.  So many fun uses for them!  For my mini album I used both sizes of the scallop heart punches to create flowers.  I love how the scallops on the hearts really make interesting petals and look cool layered on top of each other.

The photos are from an adorable patisserie in San Fransisco and called for frills and an elegant touch.  The new line from Kimberly Polson was perfect... it gave it the perfect soft, French look.  By punching patterned paper with the scallop hearts, the possibility of creating paper flowers is endless.

Try arranging your own for gorgeous looking flowers on your next project!
