Fiskars Donates Over 160,000 School Tools to Katrina Kids

Katrina victims starting school in a Dallas, Houston, Beaumont, Atlanta, San Antonio, and Phoenix will receive over 160,000 school tools from Fiskars. These tools include scissors, sharpeners, pens, highlighters, rulers, protractors, compasses and erasers. Some tools will ship directly to school district warehouses, some will go though food banks, and others will be distributed though SHOPA shelters and boxed kits.

Fiskars has also donated to schools who are making kits to help kids displaced by Hurricane Katrina. One local 7^th grader said, “When I watched what was happening to all those kids, I just kept wishing there was something I could do to help. Putting the school supply bags together was a small contribution, but it’s nice to know I made a difference.” Cindy Quam, Saulk Prairie Middle School teacher said,  “We greatly appreciate the donation of the scissors from Fiskars. We were able to put together 60 duffel bags that went to school kids, and they were thrilled to get them.” In addition to school supplies, the duffel bags, donated and distributed by the local Kiwanis club, also included tee shirts and fabric paints.
