Becky NovacekHi I’m Becky Novacek and it’s my turn to share a few things about myself, as well as a few projects. I am primarily a photographer and scrapbooker, but thanks to Fiskars, I have done quite a bit of sewing and altered crafty stuff too. My husband is such a firm believer in great tools, that I think he was as happy about me working with Fiskars, as I was! It really has made a difference for me in my approach to crafting. I can actually have success with my sewing projects now that I have great cutting tools.
I like to incorporate vintage-y, sometimes shabby touches to my craft/scrapbooking projects. I think ever since I started creating things that represent me, and sort of reflect my taste in fashion and décor, I have enjoyed crafting more than ever. I don’t try to follow trends. I remember a few years ago, there seemed to be a trend that steered away from what I would consider to be my style, and I dabbled in the more graphic style that I was seeing in the magazines. It didn’t work for me. Now, I just stick to what is me and I enjoy it and end up still liking my pages and projects years later.
![]() The layout titled *soulful* has been in my head for some time. It felt so good to put it together. I think the style of the layout, the products and colors I used and the topic all represent me well. It’s one of my favorite things I’ve created in a while. It’s definitely me. ![]() ![]() *I make stuff* is another one, that I’ve been thinking about for a while. Again, I used my favorite color combo and my new favorite accent, one of the Cloud 9 Transparencies. (check them out here) I love them!
The mobile was just a whimsical idea I had that I wanted to try out. I had some extra hoops and thought it might make a fun accent for my studio. I made the circles and hearts from Fiskars new Scallop squeeze punches (featured tool this month!) and I just love how they look layered with Heidi Grace chipboard.
