Valerie Salmon

When I was first introduced to scrapbooking back in 2000, little did I know what a wild and exciting ride it would be. What initially started as a hobby to preserve memories of my children has evolved into a professional calling for me. I've had the privilege of having a great deal of my work published in major publications; worked with some of the leading manufacturers in the industry; traveled to instruct classes nationwide; and I've been fortunate to be part of a number of design teams.

2007 has been a significant year for me. Aside from having the honor of being a 2008 BHG Scrapbook Etc's Creative Team Member, I was also fortunate to be given the title of Paper Crafts Magazine's 1st Gallery Idol. And the year ends on a high note when I received the invitation to join Fiskars Top Twelve Team.

I've been married for twelve years and have two kids, Lauren (7) and Ian (5), who are my main source of inspiration. I'm a tv show fanatic and make it a point not to miss any episode of my favorite shows with the help of my trusted DVR. I also enjoy going to the movies and dining out with my family and friends. I'm naturally inclined to the arts and crafts, thanks in part to my mom and my other relatives who are respected artists in their own fields. In my spare time, I still find myself dabbling in anything related to the arts; from photography to paper-crafting, to home decorating, sewing and sketching.

I have worked with Fiskars in the past and look forward to creating more?projects using products from the entire Fiskars family. I'm truly grateful for this wonderful opportunity.
