 | I don't usually mention that I'm a scrapbooker when I meet people. They just have to find out. It's such a part of Who I Am and I just don't know how to Label it. I never explain it right. The words never seem to quite say how I really feel about what I do.
I am a collector of quotes, a master of in-your-face-kid photography, nocturnal paper-cutting girl. I love to sew and stitch and staple and paint – all at once, if necessary. I look forward to bedtime so I can play, play, play with my pretty papers and buttons and ribbons and stamps and flowers and thread…
I am a scrap-saver. Not because I'm frugal (I wish), but because I love to make beautiful things out of tiny pieces of seemingly unrelated leftovers. My scrap drawer is a treasure drawer to me and you can find me sifting through it when I am looking for inspiration.
I love alphabets. Stickers, stamps, rub-ons, flashcards, magnets, all of it. I like my work to SAY something, so I use a lot of alphabet-related supplies. The message is usually the first part of my plan when I'm creating, then the pictures, then the paper, and then other fun stuff.
I write a lot and I write on anything that's handy when I need to get something written. When an idea presents itself, I write It down. Immediately. I have learned the hard way that ideas don't stick around in my head for a very long time! Write. It. Down. Now.
I have a scrap space that I rearrange a little too often. It's a reflection of my love for my family and for compartmentalizing stuff, my passion for color and texture and old canning jars. It's the first room in my house so if someone visits, that's usually when they find out about my secret obsession.
